Impact Dayton is a dedicated non-profit organization based in Ohio, focusing on improving the educational outcomes and overall quality of life for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and their families in Montgomery County, Ohio. Our mission is to bridge the gap between home life and classroom performance, ensuring that every child has the support they need to succeed academically and beyond.
Our family division targets parents of elementary students with IEPs in underprivileged areas within Montgomery County, providing resources, education, and support to empower parents to create nurturing and conducive environments for learning.

Our mission is to empower families and students in underprivileged areas of Montgomery County, Ohio by providing essential resources and support. We aim to bridge the gap between home life and academic success for elementary students with IEPs and enhance the quality of life for high school students as they transition into their post-high school careers.
VISION
Our vision is to create a community where every student, regardless of their background, can thrive academically and personally. By focusing on comprehensive support for families and students, we strive to ensure that each individual is equipped with the tools and guidance necessary to succeed from home life through life after high school.
OBJECTIVES
- Launch a program providing educational support to underprivileged youth within six months.
- Develop and implement staff training in fundraising techniques within three months. Track KPIs and conduct post-training assessments.
- Increase donor base by improving donation page experience and secure payment processing within six months.
- Apply to at least six grant opportunities and secure funding from at least two new grants within 12 months.
PROBLEM IDENTIFIED
- Lack of Resources: Limited access to educational tools and materials.
- Parental Support: Insufficient guidance and assistance for parents managing their child’s IEP.
- Economic Hardship: Financial strain affecting students’ ability to focus on education.
- Social Isolation: Students with IEPs may feel isolated or marginalized.
- Post-High School Transition: Challenges in transitioning from high school to further education or employment.
SERVICES OVERVIEW
Family Division:
Our Family Division focuses on supporting parents of elementary students with IEPs in underprivileged areas within Montgomery County, Ohio. We believe that improving parents’ circumstances positively impacts their children’s academic performance. We aim to be part of the school intervention team, ensure parents understand IEPs and their flexibility, encourage school and community engagement, and address personal barriers such as employment, education, transportation, housing, and health. Limited funding is available to assist parents in poverty who receive Medicaid but do not have a child with an IEP.
Work Base Learning Division:
Our Work Base Learning division supports underprivileged youth with disabilities starting at age 14, helping them explore career interests and prepare for successful post-high school careers. We address the risk factors associated with unemployment and poor health by providing five key services:
- Job Exploration Counseling
- Work-Based Learning
- Counseling on Post-Secondary Opportunities
- Work Readiness Training (on/off job)
- Instruction on Self-Advocacy

The nonprofit sector is said to be the third-largest employer in the United States. Many people may be surprised that an industry of charities could make enough to employ that many people. However, with over 1.7 million active nonprofits, the number of employees shouldn’t be a surprise.
America’s generosity has continued even during the pandemic. In 2021, the average gift amount increased 10% to $813. In 2020, the average gift increased from $617 to $737.
